Uptime.com is a site monitoring solution that pings various endpoints and notifies our users via email, SMS, voice call, or mobile application when downtime is detected. Additionally, downtime and response time data is collected, stored, and provided via reports to our users.
The most sensitive data being stored by Uptime.com is user email addresses, user cell phone numbers, and credentials for transaction checks . Your Transaction check may include login/passwords, as stated in our support documentation under Authentication and Settings.
The Secure Vault feature allows for creating and storing credentials using highly secure encryption keys that are only visible to administrators.
We highly recommend that you create unprivileged test credentials for any checks that utilize basic HTTP basic authentication. Uptime.com includes password masking for passwords used in synthetic monitoring. Ordinarily, Uptime.com identifies a password field and automatically obscures the text.
