What are Maintenance Windows?

Maintenance Windows allow you to define periods where maintenance is being performed on a resource such as a website and downtime is expected. While a check is in a Maintenance Window, the check still runs and records all data. However, alerts are suppressed and outages are excluded from uptime calculations. .

Maintenance Windows can be defined for individual checks or for Status Pages.

For information about setting a Maintenance Window on an individual check, see our documentation on setting these Windows in the Advanced options settings, located here. These windows can be customized to be recurring or on a one-time basis.

For information about setting Maintenance Windows for Status Pages that can be used to communicate with subscribers about expected downtime, see our documentation for creating, editing, and resolving these windows located here.
