Configuring Pager Duty

Pager Duty is fully integrated with Uptime to allow you to push alerts to their platform, and we have worked together to make the integration seamless. To get started, you will first need to setup a Pager Duty account at https://www.pagerduty.com/.

In order to activate the integration of Pager Duty within your Uptime account, you will go to Notifications followed by Integrations, then click New Profile. Select Pager Duty as the provider type when adding a new push notifications profile.

The following describes the fields shown when configuring Pager Duty within your Uptime account:

  • Integration Key: This will be obtained from Pager Duty. Please review the  Obtaining Pager Duty API Key section below for further documentation.
  • Auto Resolve?: Select whether or not to automatically resolve alerts. If you select to auto resolve upon check up, then your alerts will be resolved automatically within Pager Duty once a check is back up.   
  • Alias: The reference name you desire to assign to your Pager Duty profile. It can assist you with organizing multiple provider profiles within your Uptime account.

*Once you've configured your Pager Duty profile, you will need to assign the profile to a contact group located under Notifications>Contacts. The profile is assigned at the Push Notifications field within the contact group.

Obtaining Pager Duty API Key

In order to obtain your API Key within the Pager Duty platform, you will go to Configuration>Services. You will click Add New Service, name it, and then search for Uptime under Integration Type. There may be additional settings to adjust before you click Add Service. Copy the Integration Key from the next page into the Integration Key field pictured above.
